Job Title: Small Engine Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines found in equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, motorcycles, and generators. This role involves both troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing routine maintenance to ensure equipment runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in small engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug checks.
  • Assemble and disassemble engines and other mechanical components.
  • Test repaired engines and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
  • Communicate with customers regarding repairs, maintenance needs, and costs.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques in small engine mechanics.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training in small engine repair is preferred.
  • Experience working with small engines (1‑3 years preferred).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment effectively.

  • Must be able to successfully pass, as required, a federal, state, or local government’s background investigation.
