Qualified applicants will have at least 3 years of small engine experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to travel to field sites. The City provides essential services support, with background checks and safety trainings required.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years' experience in small engine maintenance and repair including brands such as Stihl, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Kawasaki and Honda.
• Valid driver license; Florida license must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on small engine equipment including landscaping tools, mowers, generators, pumps and sprayers.
• Perform repairs on small diesel engines and related components such as carburetors, drives, and electrical systems.
• Remove, replace and sharpen lawn blades and diagnose faulty electrical system components.
• Utilize computerized work order system to log work, review equipment history and track labor times.
• Travel to service sites for field work and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Coordinate with parts personnel to obtain stocked or special-order parts.
• Meet mandatory training per City Emergency Management Plan and comply with background checks.
