You will work on STIHL tools, John Deere tractors, and Vermeer chippers, applying expertise in small engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience as a small engine, agricultural, landscaping, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing small gasoline engines.
• Familiarity with STIHL equipment or other similar power equipment.
• Experience servicing John Deere tractors or similar agricultural equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain STIHL chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, cut-off saws, and other handheld equipment.
• Service and repair John Deere tractors and related attachments.
• Diagnose and maintain Vermeer woodchippers and other equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, fuel-system service, spark plug replacement, belt and blade inspection/replacement, greasing and lubrication, battery and charging-system maintenance, hydraulic-system inspections.
• Troubleshoot gasoline and diesel engines.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel-system issues.
• Perform engine tune-ups, carburetor/fuel-system repairs, and starting/charging-system repairs.
• Inspect equipment for safety and identify potential problems before they result in breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Keep the shop, tools, and work areas organized and safe.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair recommendations to management.
• Assist with maintaining an organized inventory of parts, fluids, filters, and repair supplies.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary.
