Job description

Job Description:

Provides expert understanding and assistance to brokers, potential members, and existing members in the sale of Individual Plans and Products. Collaborates with Enrollment and Billing Departments throughout the sales and renewal process to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Job Essentials

  1. Trains and assists brokers with the sale of Individual Plan and Small Employer products, including explaining plans, products, rates, and options.
  2. Helps and educates potential and existing members in choosing the most appropriate insurance plans, considering both Marketplace and off-marketplace options.
  3. Attends various sales events, engaging professionally with brokers, customers, and departmental staff.
  4. Manages a specific book of business and supports other Representatives' books as needed, communicating accurately and confidentially in accordance with HIPAA and internal guidelines.
  5. Stays informed on legislation, healthcare reform, and their impact on the market, assisting brokers and applicants with this information.
  6. Inputs data and updates the sales automation system to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  7. Maintains a monthly average phone audit score of 93.5%.
  8. Passes all departmental testing requirements.

  • Shift: Typically Monday-Friday business hours, with possible early after-hours attendance and optional volunteer opportunities after hours/weekends
  • Remote work options available

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Two years of sales experience
  • Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and internet navigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of health insurance concepts
  • Familiarity with Facets or similar eligibility systems
  • Experience in the health insurance industry
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in team environments
  • Strong customer service focus

  • Interaction requiring communication
  • Operation of computers and office equipment
  • Visual acuity to read monitors and documents
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods

The hourly rate ranges from $18.38 to $26.65, depending on experience.
