Job description

Job Description:

Provides expert understanding and assistance to brokers, potential members, and existing members in the sale of Individual Plans and Products. Collaborates with Enrollment and Billing Departments throughout the sales and renewal process to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Job Essentials

  1. Trains and assists brokers with the sale of Individual Plan and Small Employer products, including explaining plans, products, rates, and options.
  2. Helps and educates potential and existing members in selecting the most appropriate insurance plan, including decision-making on plan types and options, both on Marketplace and off.
  3. Participates in various sales events, engaging professionally with brokers, customers, and departmental staff.
  4. Manages a specific book of business while assisting with others' books as needed, ensuring clear and professional communication in accordance with HIPAA and internal compliance guidelines.
  5. Keeps updated on legislative changes, healthcare reform, and their impact on the Individual and Small Employer Plan Market, providing relevant information to brokers and applicants.
  6. Enters and updates data in the sales automation system accurately and promptly.
  7. Maintains a monthly average phone audit score of 93.5%.
  8. Successfully passes all departmental testing.

  • Entry Rate: Depending on experience

  • Shift Details: Typically Monday-Friday business hours, with possible early after-hours events and optional volunteer opportunities on evenings/weekends
  • Remote work option available

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Two years of sales experience
  • Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and internet-based systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of health insurance and functional knowledge of related systems like Facets
  • Experience in the health insurance industry
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills for engaging with applicants and brokers
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills, capable of working under pressure
  • Team player with a strong customer service orientation

  • Interaction requiring communication
  • Operation of computers and office equipment
  • Visual acuity for monitors and documents
  • Sustained sitting or standing for work activities

The hourly range is $18.38 - $26.65, dependent on experience.
