The Small Business Regional Leader at Alera Group is responsible for leading a small business service team over a specified geographical area and delivering on the overall execution of the vision for small business. The goal of this position is to create an aligned culture around consistent, sustained, and effective P&C operational policies and practices in support of short and long-term business plans – including operating and financial objectives for the region and the practice overall. This role also manages client care for a small book of business.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of the Small Business Property & Casualty (P&C) strategy, aligning with organizational goals and driving growth in partnership with executive and regional leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regional leaders, field partners, and executive management to enhance operational efficiency, streamline vendor relationships, and promote alignment on key initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, conduct market research, and maintain strong external networks to proactively identify emerging strategies and maintain subject matter expertise in a dynamic insurance environment.
  • Ensure all P&C operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations while upholding the highest ethical standards in business conduct.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to regional service teams, focusing on performance management, career development, team structure, and coaching to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Resolve escalated issues related to clients, carriers, operations, or employee relations, and communicate key decisions and strategies effectively throughout the team.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts across small business P&C by identifying, attracting, and retaining top talent within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, operations, or a related field
• 10-15 years of related experience in P&C administration with a carrier, broker, or consulting firm with a strong history of client service
• Experience leading and implementing new and improved P&C processes that include the development of measurable performance goals, metrics, and benchmarks
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• P&C broker’s license required
• Professional designations or certifications are preferred
