Job summary

A local recruiting firm in South Carolina is looking for a Business Controller to oversee accounting functions including payroll, receivables, and financial reporting. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a background in construction accounting. Qualifications

• 5+ years of general accounting experience is required.
• Construction accounting experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and process Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger.
• Perform quarterly reporting and month end closing.
• Calculate 1099s, W-2s, bi-weekly payroll, and monthly commissions.
• Oversee employee onboarding and benefits.
• Perform job costing and verify material and labor costs.
• Manage fixed asset reporting.
• Oversee subcontractor labor and customer contracts for compliance.
• Prequalify submittals for general contractors and bids.
• Audit compilation for insurance audits and payroll filings.
• Calculate and file sales and property taxes.
• Apply for business licenses for new jobsites.
• Assist in other office-related duties when needed.
