Virginia Tech is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Technician/Floater to support clinical faculty and veterinary students in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. You will assist with ward management, administer treatments, and perform routine ICU nursing under faculty direction.
The role requires Virginia LVT licensure or eligibility, ICU experience, nursing skills, CPR knowledge, and strong communication. The position is 40+ hours weekly, non-exempt, with overtime potential and weekend shifts.
The Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine TeachingHospital is seeking qualified candidates for the position of SmallAnimal Veterinary Technician/Floater. The position providestechnical support to clinical faculty and veterinary students inthe medical sections of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, includingward and treatment room management, administering treatments andmedications ordered by clinical faculty. Special nursing careprocedures may include special diagnostic procedures, infectioncontrol/isolation management. Performs critical care nursingprocedures in the ICU as directed by clinical faculty and instructsveterinary students in technical and manipulative skills related toICU/Critical Care. On call for ICU coverage and covers ICU shiftsincluding holidays. Needs to be available to work some weekends.Assists in other areas of the hospital as directed bysupervisor.
