Job summary

Harvard Bioscience is seeking a pre-clinical surgery specialist to perform routine and advanced small animal surgeries using DSI implantable telemetry devices. The role includes in-house training for customers, participation in product development, and documentation of surgical procedures.

The candidate will support sales and product teams, ensure animal welfare per guidelines, and help manage surgical manuals and data. Travel up to ~30% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent with at least two years' experience using small laboratory animals.
• Certification (SRT or SRS) through the Academy of Surgical Research required or obtainable on hire.
• Experience with peri- and post-operative animal care and surgical training.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple to complex small animal surgeries.
• Provide in house hands-on surgical training for DSI customers.
• Maintain detailed records of animal implants and explants.
• Create and maintain surgical manuals and tech notes.
• Monitor health and welfare of animals following guidelines for care and use of laboratory animals.
