Job summary

Pharmaron Beijing Co. Ltd. is seeking a Preclinical Veterinary Technician (Large Animal) in Carlsbad, CA, to join the Medical Device team.

You will support complex surgical procedures, anesthesia, and in vivo studies, collaborating with veterinarians, surgeons, and study teams to advance next-generation medical devices and therapies. Ideal candidates have 1–5+ years of veterinary or preclinical experience, a strong understanding of perioperative care, and a commitment to GLP-compliant research.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in veterinary technology or related field is preferred.
• 1–5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine or preclinical research.
• RV T certification is a plus.
• Experience supporting large animal surgical procedures or research is preferred.
• Experience monitoring anesthesia and perioperative care in large animals is desirable.
• Experience in CRO/academic/biotech environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support large animal surgical procedures and preclinical studies.
• Provide perioperative support before, during, and after surgery.
• Monitor anesthesia and physiological parameters during procedures and recovery.
• Administer test articles via oral, SQ, IV, dermal, and other routes.
• Collect biological specimens from laboratory animals.
• Perform catheter placement, intubation, line placements, incisions, biopsies.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure protocol compliance.
• Daily animal observations and health monitoring.
