Job summary

Arizona Autism United (AZA United) is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team at the West Valley Center in Avondale, AZ. The role involves providing speech therapy under SLP supervision, collaborating across programs, and supporting families with a variety of modalities.

The position is full-time (30-40 hours/week) with a typical schedule Mon-Fri 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm and starting pay $28-$33/hour DOE, plus a scheduled raise program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, or related field with required coursework.
• Completion of certified training program for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
• SLPA license from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
• 1+ years of experience with speech therapy required.
• Proficient with computers and email.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct treatment, identified by the supervising SLP, by following the written individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapy goals in an individual setting and facilitate in a group setting, addressing social language skills.
• Perform duties as directed involving data collection and record keeping for all services delivered.
• Participate in initial and ongoing training and/or shadowing from supervisors, parents, and other therapy team members as appropriate, including demonstration of current programs.
• Offer intervention strategies to families for speech and language goals and objectives.
• Communicate & collaborate regularly and openly with supervisors, therapy team members, providers and parents/guardians of the child/client.
• Accurate and timely submittal of paperwork, including data reports, timesheets, etc.
• Work collaboratively and communicate with parents and families in a manner that emphasizes family-centered services
