Job description

Crane Currency has an immediate position opening for a Slitting Machine Operator on third shift based out of Nashua, New Hampshire.

You become part of the front-line team entrusted with the responsibility of creating the security products that our customers and their economies run on. You will get the chance to expand on your current skillset by working in manufacturing processes fueled by technology pushing the next generation of currency around the world.

This position’s primary function is to safely and effectively operate the slitter and all support processes in a manner resulting in a product which meets or exceeds customer requirements while yielding maximum productivity. The Operator is expected to know each process of the Slitting Machine(s) in detail and fully understand each function, and how they interact with each other under normal production conditions.

  • Safe and effective Slitter operation, including monitoring and control of the equipment to maintain conformance to customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain efficient operation of equipment to maximize yields and uptime.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all components of the slitter and spooling equipment, with the ability to set up orders and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines for make-ready, troubleshooting, security, record keeping, and quality testing.
  • Perform set changes in a timely fashion utilizing a team approach.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Industrial math skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude & dexterity to perform basic repairs to the machinery.
  • Ability to learn the computer skills required to control the monitoring functions.
  • Ability to read, write, keep neat and accurate records, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to lift up to 25-lbs.
  • Must be a United States Citizen with an ability to demonstrate suitability for a Position of Public Trust.

Preferred:

  • Previous manufacturing experience highly preferred.
  • Previous chemical handling experience a plus.
