Job summary

STEELSUMMIT HOLDINGS INC in Tennessee seeks a setup operator for the slitting line to configure arbors and ensure precise widths per customer orders. You will assemble tooling, follow PN data, and use setup software to generate shimless setups.

You must lift 50 lb and stand on concrete, communicating well with the team while maintaining 5S standards. The role requires attention to safety, accuracy, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced production.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for entire shift.
• Effective communication in a team environment.
• Qualified on tubes as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line using spacers, knives, and rings.
• Follow PN data and instructions to determine required widths.
• Use setup software and measurements to generate shimless setups.
• Calibrate tape measure, caliper, and micrometer and record results.
• Input widths and parameters into computer for setup info.
• Determine clearance using provided chart and load a master coil.
• Band finished material as needed and maintain 5S standards.
• Initiate training for next phase of slitter operation.
