Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC in Hickory, NC is seeking a Slitter Operator to set up and operate manual or automatic slitter and packing lines, following safety rules and work instructions while completing shop orders and recording production data.

You will troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, train trainees, read gauges, and ensure material quality. The role requires good math, data entry, and SAP usage, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed instructions accurately and work both independently and in a team.
• Excellent manual dexterity and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of production schedules, basic math, computer skills and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitter according to established procedures.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and preventive maintenance programs.
• Read measurements, gauges, and meters; record output and yardage; perform data entry into SAP.
• Instruct trainees in slitter operation and record keeping.
• Perform equipment change-overs and splices; ensure materials are correctly retrieved.
