Job summary

Apex Converting in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Slitter Operator to run slitter rewinder machines and back up the Production Supervisor when needed. You’ll spend your day on the machines and step in to guide the team when the supervisor is out.

Responsibilities include setting up and running machines, loading rolls, adjusting tension and speed, inspecting finished rolls for quality, and ensuring accuracy. Forklift operation may be required after training.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or machine operation experience.
• Previous lead worker or supervisory experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read work orders and use basic math and measuring tools.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and a clear communicator who works well on a team.
• Forklift experience or certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run automatic and semi-automatic slitter rewinder machines.
• Load rolls, adjust blades, tension, and speed to hit customer specs.
• Inspect materials and finished rolls for quality.
• Measure widths, diameters, and tension to ensure accuracy.
• Complete production and quality paperwork.
• Do routine machine cleaning and lubrication, and flag maintenance issues.
• Operate a forklift after training.
