Job summary

American Packaging Corporation (APC) is seeking a machine operator to slit printed rolls and inspect material quality. You will palletize finished rolls for shipment and support on-the-job training for team members, following safety and operating procedures.

The role requires reading job specs, setting up machines, mounting rolls, and monitoring for defects while maintaining accurate production records. Strong safety adherence is essential in a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate on-the-job training and instruction for team members on safety and operating procedures.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set up the machine and mount rolls onto the machine using the lowboy.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and adjust as needed.
• Measure material dimensions to ensure accuracy of machine operation.
• Perform basic machine maintenance such as oiling/greasing and knife changes.
• Prepare required paperwork: daily production reports, SPC charting, roll tickets, inventory tags.
• Complete work orders and participate in safety programs.
