Job summary

American Packaging Corporation in Chili, NY is seeking a dedicated operator who will slit printed rolls from the press to meet customer specifications. You will inspect material for quality, set up and operate machines, and palletize finished rolls for shipment.

The role requires reading job specs, basic math, and adherence to safety guidelines. Training and a supportive team environment are provided on a 7pm–7am 2-2-3 schedule with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read safety and maintenance instructions.
• Willingness to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust machines per job specs.
• Mount rolls onto machine using a lowboy.
• Monitor operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Inspect material dimensions for accuracy.
• Perform basic machine maintenance (oiling/greasing, knife changes).
• Prepare daily production reports and inventory tags.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
• Complete work orders as required.
