Job summary

TekniPlex is hiring a Slitter Operator to convert master rolls per production orders and customer specs. The role requires staying on a 2:45pm–11:00pm shift, following safety rules, and ensuring quality while handling materials and equipment efficiently.

You will input data, verify labels, and help maintain productivity and scrap targets. Prior manufacturing experience and good English skills are preferred for success in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Safety conscious and able to follow GMP guidelines.
• Comfortable standing for entire shift and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• English reading/writing/speaking required for daily tasks.
• Minimum a High School Diploma with manufacturing exposure preferred.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing facility is preferred and forklift experience is desirable.
• Strong communication skills for a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Convert in-process or finished master rolls per production order and specs.
• Follow plant safety rules and GMP requirements.
• Load materials, thread through the machine, and validate labels.
• Set up spacers and knives, adjust tension and guides, and monitor slit quality.
• Document daily production data and report issues promptly.
• Stack finished rolls according to packaging specs and meet productivity targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the Slitter Operator position is to convert in-process or finished master rolls per production order and customer's specifications.

Shift hours: 2:45pm - 11:00pm

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Slitter Operator is responsible for the preparation and processing of material in and out of the Slitting Operation.

• Follow all Tekniplex plant safety rules and standards.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Load a machine payoff using an overhead hoist and thread the material through the machine initially by hand and then jogging it through the cutting press.
• Input data into the shop floor PC, check and validate labels are correct from computer on to the corresponding rolls.
• Selects, cleans, install spacers and knives on shafts.
• Threads sheeting through slitter and verifies dimension of slit specifications.
• Secures slit strips on cores, adjusts guides and roller tension, thread edge trim to scrap winder and start machine.
• Observes slitting and rewinding operation and examines cut strips for flatness, wrinkles and other defects.
• Will observe the machine and is required to communicate scrap, mechanical or quality issues timely.
• Responsible for arranging stacking rolls according to packaging specification.
• Responsible for meeting standards relating to productivity, quality and scrap daily.
• Filling out and submitting required paperwork daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous forklift experience is preferred
• 2 years of experience in manufacturing facility is preferred
