Job summary

TekniPlex is hiring a Production Helper for the 3rd shift at our Madison, WI facility. You will assist press operators, slitting operators, and/or compounding operators to produce products per customer standards, following OHSE and Quality Systems for a safe workplace.

The role pays $20.00 per hour and requires a High School Diploma or GED plus forklift/warehouse experience. You will contribute to quality objectives, participate in training, and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift and warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
  • Strong under-pressure performance and attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic math and measurement skills; ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to operate a computer and navigate basic software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in set-up and operation of printing and slitting equipment to meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Complete documentation accurately.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards around production equipment and area.
  • Perform packing and material handling tasks as needed.
  • Work in the cleaning room and perform core cutting as required.
  • Help meet site quality objectives and follow safety rules.
  • Support training and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
  • Move products in plant using fork truck or similar equipment.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

TekniPlex is hiring a Production Helper 3 rd Shift for our Madison, WI facility. As a Production Assistant, you will assist press operators, slitting operators, and/or compounding operators with the set up and operation to produce products per the customer standards. The Production Assistant will appropriately understand and follow the plant’s OHSE and Quality Systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product. The pay rate for this role is $20.00 per hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the set-up and operation of printing and slitting equipment to meet quality and productivity requirements
  • Complete documentation in an accurate manner
  • Maintain housekeeping standards of production equipment and the surrounding area
  • Preform packing and material handling tasks as needed
  • Preform work in the cleaning room
  • Preform core cutting as required
  • Responsible for helping the site meet their quality objectives
  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures
  • Work in set up area as required
  • Assist with training as required
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Move product in plant using fork truck or other PIV
  • Preform related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift and warehouse experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good math skills – able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain excellent quality products
  • Able to pay attention to details
  • Proficient navigating a computer
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
