Job summary

TekniPlex, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Slitter Operator to convert master rolls per production orders and customer specs. Shift: 10:45pm to 7:00am, Machine: S64.

You will follow safety rules, GMP, load materials, verify labels, set up knives, monitor quality, and ensure productivity with minimal scrap while maintaining safe operations.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Good communication skills for a hands-on role.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Safety conscious and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and GMP standards.
• Load machine payoff with overhead hoist and thread material.
• Input data into shop floor PC and verify labels.
• Set up spacers and knives, thread through machine, adjust tension.
• Monitor slitting/rewinding and inspect for defects.
• Communicate scrap or quality issues promptly.
• Arrange stacking rolls per packaging specs.
• Meet daily productivity, quality, and scrap targets.
• Complete required paperwork daily.

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the Slitter Operator position is to convert in-process or finished master rolls per production order and customer's specifications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Slitter Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the slitting process to convert in-process or finished master rolls per production order and customer's specifications while maintaining production requirements, quality standards, and established safety procedures. The position is responsible for producing quality products in a timely manner while maximizing material utilization, minimizing scrap, and supporting overall production efficiency.

• Follow all Tekniplex plant safety rules and standards.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Load a machine payoff using an overhead hoist and thread the material through the machine initially by hand and then jogging it through the cutting press.
• Input data into the shop floor PC, check and validate labels are correct from computer on to the corresponding rolls.
• Selects, cleans, install spacers and knives on shafts.
• Threads sheeting through slitter and verifies dimension of slit specifications.
• Secures slit strips on cores, adjusts guides and roller tension, thread edge trim to scrap winder and start machine.
• Observes slitting and rewinding operation and examines cut strips for flatness, wrinkles and other defects.
• Will observe the machine and is required to communicate scrap, mechanical or quality issues timely.
• Responsible for arranging stacking rolls according to packaging specification.
• Responsible for meeting standards relating to productivity, quality and scrap daily.
• Filling out and submitting required paperwork daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous forklift experience is preferred
• 2 years of experience in manufacturing facility is preferred
• Excellent communication skills for this hands-on role
• Must be able to read/writing/speak English
• Minimum of a High School Diploma
• Safety conscious
• Comfortable standing for entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
