Job description

Printpack's manufacturing plant in Elgin, IL is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Slitter Operator for 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm, M-F).

Additional $2.50/hr shift differential for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate Slitter to ensure safety, quality, waste, and production standards are met.
2. Communicate effectively with other departments regarding mechanical issues, defective materials, job preparations, changeovers, and shift information.
3. Report production data accurately and timely through Prism, including waste, WIP, time codes, and raw materials.
4. Maintain safety for yourself and team members during operation.
5. Prepare master rolls, perform splicing, segregate and label materials, assist with roll removal, and weigh startup rolls/materials.
6. Perform daily housekeeping to keep the area clean and organized.
7. Manage waste and recycle materials properly, store unused equipment appropriately.
8. Possess at least 1 year of experience operating machinery/equipment (preferred).
9. Read a tape measure accurately.
10. Be self-directed, multitask, follow instructions, and lead/manage others effectively.
11. Obtain and operate a forklift license.
