Job summary

Classic Packaging Company in Pfafftown, NC, is seeking a reliable Slitter/Machine Operator to help maintain production levels and quality while following GMP and safety procedures.

You will assist the Slitter operator, check safety functions at shift start, perform quality checks on restarts, keep the area clean, and handle pallet jacks or hoists to move materials.

This full-time evening shift runs Monday to Friday 3:00pm–11:00pm with $16.00–$18.00 per hour plus shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production levels and product quality while operating the slitter safely.
• Check all safety functions at the start of each shift.
• Perform quality checks at each restart of the machine.
• Complete all paperwork and data entries accurately.
• Assist the Slitter Machine operator and perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Operate material moving equipment such as pallet jacks/hoists to move materials and finished products.

Job Overview

This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety and Classic Packaging procedures and policies. Assists the Slitter Machine operator in the operation of the Slitter.

Duties

Includes, but not limited to the following:

• Maintain acceptable production levels and quality of product while operating machine in the safest manner possible.
• Must check all the machines’ safety functions at the beginning of their shift to ensure the machine is safe to operate.
• Quality must be checked at each restart of the machine.
• All paperwork and computer entries must be complete and accurate.

• You Help maintain production levels and quality.
• Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Verify correct materials are being used for each job.
• Check quality of rolls as they finish on the slitter and palletize.
• Keep Slitter area clean and orderly.
• Comply with all safety requirements.
• Safely operate a variety of material moving equipment like pallet jacks, hoists to transport and lift materials finished products.
• Perform any other job duties as assigned by shift supervisor.
