- The Slitter Helper at Kenwal Steel Corporation is responsible for assisting in the slitting operations, ensuring the efficient and safe processing of steel coils. This role supports the Slitter Operator in maintaining high-quality standards and operational efficiency, contributing to the overall productivity of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Assist the Slitter Operator in setting up and operating the slitting machine to cut steel coils to specified dimensions.
- - Monitor the slitting process to ensure adherence to quality standards and make adjustments as necessary.
- - Perform routine inspections and maintenance of slitting equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- - Handle and transport steel coils and finished products using appropriate equipment and safety protocols.
- - Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
- - Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise during the slitting process.
- - Assist in inventory management by tracking material usage and reporting discrepancies.
- - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
- - Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
QualificationsRequired Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- - Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- - Previous experience in metal fabrication or steel processing is preferred
Required Skills and Abilities:
- - Ability to operate and assist in the setup of slitting equipment
- - Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues
- - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
