Job summary

Atlas Tube at Zekelman Industries is seeking a detail-oriented Slitter Operator Exit for the 3rd shift to set up and run high-speed, roboticly assisted equipment to form or cut steel to specification. You will ensure safety, operate, and monitor processes, and report quality issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include advanced setup, quality inspections, and collaboration with maintenance and quality teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English; maintain production records.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform math, decimals, and fractions.
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently.
• Regular, full-time on-site attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment.
• Advanced setup and calibration of equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after running material.
• Record and report any deficiencies in quality to the supervisor/quality department.
• Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.
• Diagnose equipment and quality problems while keeping scrap and delays to a minimum.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safe.
• Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.
• Assist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.
• Participation in continuous improvement programs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
