Job summary

Zekelman Industries is hiring a Slitter Material Handler for the 1st shift in North Kansas City, MO. You will set up and operate high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to spec, while following safety rules and recording production data.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read/write English, and experience with measuring devices. Forklift/crane operation may be required; strong detail orientation is essential.

• Record and report deficiencies to supervisor or quality department.
• Assist maintenance with repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Complete production, changeover, and scrap reports and participate in continuous improvement.

Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.Come build a career you believe in.About The Role:Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Slitter Material Handler will be responsible for setting up and operating high speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications.Shift: 1st (5:30a-4:00p)What You'll Do:Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.Advanced set up and calibration of all equipment.Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after running materialRecord and report any deficiencies in quality to the supervisor/quality department.Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.Diagnose equipment and quality problems while keeping scrap and delays to a minimumPerform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safeComplete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap materialAssist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.Participation in continuous improvement programs.Perform all other duties as assigned by management jobs as assigned.What You'll Have:High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to read and write English.
