Job summary
Bayou Processing & Storage in Houston seeks a Production Operator to support daily steel coil processing operations. You will assist with machinery operation, setup, maintenance, and ensure a safe, organized work area. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in steel or manufacturing is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine setup and operation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of production and coil processing machinery
- Perform slitter head setups as directed by lead operators
- Support equipment maintenance and troubleshooting efforts as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by performing routine 5S activities
- Assist with coil handling and material flow during processing
- Move between production cells to support workload demands
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and safe material handling
- Conduct basic quality checks and report any non-conformances to leadership
- Communicate effectively with operators, team leads, and maintenance personnel
