Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Slitter Operator to operate and maintain the slitting line, ensuring quality coils and safe, efficient production. You will set up tooling, adjust controls, handle coils, and report production data as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires 1–3 years of manufacturing experience and the ability to read gauges, with physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying temperatures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
• 3–5 years steel industry or slitting line experience preferred.
• Ability to read gauges, dials, and measuring devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up knives and tooling, changeover slitter arms, and adjust controls.
• Operate material handling equipment to move steel coils and finished materials.
• Observe incoming and finished materials for defects and report issues.
• Band, bundle, tack weld, tag, and identify slit coils per requirements.
• Complete daily production, time, and material usage reports.
• Work collaboratively with other Slitter Operators, Supervisors, and Maintenance personnel to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
