A regional processing company is looking for a motivated Production Operator to support daily operations in their steel coil processing facility in Houston. This role involves assisting with equipment operation, maintenance, and ensuring a safe work environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and prior experience in manufacturing is a plus. The role is physically demanding, requiring lifting and working in various conditions, with a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in a steel or manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine setup and operation.
• Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and with a team.
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding, industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of production and coil processing machinery.
• Perform slitter head setups as directed by lead operators.
• Support equipment maintenance and troubleshooting efforts as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace by performing routine 5S activities.
• Assist with coil handling and material flow during processing.
• Move between production cells as necessary to support workload demands.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and safe material handling.
• Conduct basic quality checks and report any non-conformances to leadership.
• Communicate effectively with operators, team leads, and maintenance personnel.
