Position: Slitter Assistant (2nd Shift)Location: HickoryWage: $19.32/hourShift: 2nd Shift | Monday through Friday | 3:00 PM to 11PMSummary DescriptionThe Slitter Assistant reports directly to the Plant Superintendent and is responsible for performing tasks necessary to support high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of TOPPAN products.Excellent attendance is critical to team success. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, works well across teams, and brings strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and pride in their work.What You’ll Be DoingPack roll stock from the Slitting and Press DepartmentsAssist Slitter Operators in secondary slitting operations with a focus on increasing production efficiency on the assigned shiftSupport Slitter Operators by moving and wrapping pallets, staging rolls to be slit, and keeping the department supplied with materialsCut cores, empty trash and trim bins, reclaim rolls on rewinder equipment, and pack finished rolls with proper labels, boxes, and palletsCollect samples for Quality Assurance and Customer Service as requested on work ordersMove finished goods to the wrapping staging areaReview scheduling lists and prepare required materials to execute production ordersKeep recyclables, cores, cardboard, and materials organized and properly segregatedOperate slitter equipment and fill in during PTO coverage or absences as neededWe’d Love to Hear From You IfYou have an excellent attendance historyYou have proven success in a fast-paced environmentYou work well with multiple teams and solve problems effectivelyYou take pride in your work and have strong analytical and organizational skillsYou have strong attention to detailYou can occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlYou can frequently lift and/or move up to 25 poundsYou can occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsYou can regularly use hands and fingers to handle tools, materials, and controlsYou have 6 to 12 months of work experience preferredYou have good reading and math skillsYou can read a ruler and measure in inches (to 1/16"), centimeters, and millimetersYou can understand and interpret work orders tied to customer specificationsForklift or lift truck experience is a plusQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBenefitsAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support overall wellbeing.
