Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire, the UK's leading crane hire company, is seeking a Slinger / Signaller for the Stockton depot. You must be within a commutable distance and hold a full driving licence.

As a Slinger / Signaller, you will attach/detach loads safely, assess load weights and balance, select lifting accessories and direct crane movements while liaising with project teams. You will monitor wind and weather, stop operations if unsafe, and contribute to a safe, professional lifting operation.

Qualifications

• Valid
• Previous experience in a Slinger / Signaller role
• Driving Licence (essential)

Responsibilities

• Attaching and detaching loads safely
• Working in line with manufacturer instructions and site procedures
• Establishing load weights, centre of gravity and load balance
• Selecting appropriate lifting accessories and checking equipment condition
• Directing crane movements using approved signalling methods
• Liaising with site contacts and project teams upon arrival
• Identifying and challenging unsafe practices when necessary
• Monitoring environmental factors such as wind and weather conditions
• Taking action to prevent dangerous situations, including stopping operations where required
• Operating fire suppressant equipment where fitted
