Job summary

Golden Touch in New York is seeking a Designer, Sleepwear to lead the sleepwear collection from concept through execution. You will own calendars, provide design direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and overseas partners to deliver innovative, market-ready products.

You will mentor junior designers, ensure garment quality and fit, and partner with Product Development, Sourcing, and Sales to meet milestones and retailer requirements. This is a full-time onsite role in NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 4+ years apparel design experience, sleepwear required.
• Experience in loungewear, intimate apparel, or adjacent categories is a plus.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and product development processes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required; Photoshop proficiency preferred.
• Experience working within PLM systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design trend-right sleepwear collections aligned with customer needs and brand direction.
• Research and interpret market trends, color direction, fabrics, prints, and silhouettes for sleepwear and loungewear.
• Create seasonal concepts, mood boards, CADs, detailed sketches, colorways, and presentations.
• Develop tech packs and design packages to communicate specifications to cross-functional teams and overseas partners.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Technical Design, Production, Sales, and Sourcing through the product lifecycle.
• Source fabrics, trims, treatments, prints, and embellishments meeting aesthetic and cost targets.
• Participate in fittings and reviews, providing feedback on fit, construction, and quality.
• Review lab dips, strike-offs, prints, fabrics, and prototypes.
• Manage multiple seasonal calendars and key milestones.
• Present concepts and updates to leadership and partners.
• Analyze competitive offerings for innovation and differentiation.
• Maintain understanding of retailer requirements and market trends in sleepwear.
• Mentor Assistant/Associate Designers and review workload and development.
