Job summary

UCHealth Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs is seeking a Sleep Lab Technologist for a nights shift. This full-time onsite role pays $29.54–$44.31 per hour, 72 hours per pay period.

You will prepare equipment, interview patients, perform sleep testing, score results, and educate patients on sleep disorders and resources. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; preferred Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy program completion; RPSGT or NBRC credentials; and BLS/CPR

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy program is preferred.
  • RPSGT registration or NBRC Respiratory Therapist credential is preferred.
  • BLS/CPR valid through start date.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and prepares equipment for ordered sleep tests and interviews patient to identify sleep disorder issues.
  • Performs sleep testing and any additional required tests.
  • Scores, interprets, and reports sleep study results; educates patients on results and resources.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains testing equipment and reports needed repairs.
  • Operates with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Location: UCHealth Memorial Hospital North - Colorado Springs, CO
Department: Sleep Lab
Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Nights
Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Summary
Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.
Responsibilities

  • Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.
  • Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
  • Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent, or Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
