Join Our Team as an Overnight Sleep Technologist (Part-Time)

Job Details

  • Reports to: Sleep Center Lead Technologist & Sleep Center Manager
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Overnight Sleep Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a registered Sleep Technologist with experience in conducting sleep studies and providing excellent patient care. This is a part-time position with the potential to transition into a full-time role as needed. The overnight shifts involve performing diagnostic sleep studies and assisting patients in a comfortable and professional manner.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct overnight sleep studies (Polysomnography) following established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Prepare patients for sleep studies, including explaining procedures, positioning, and applying necessary equipment.
  3. Monitor patient conditions throughout the night, making adjustments to equipment as needed.
  4. Accurately document patient information, study data, and any unusual observations.
  5. Collaborate with the sleep team, including physicians and healthcare providers, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe sleep lab environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  7. Troubleshoot and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functioning during studies.
  8. Educate patients on sleep disorders and the importance of follow-up care as needed.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  10. Stay current with advancements in sleep medicine and technology certifications.
Qualifications
Required
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in performing sleep studies using polysomnography and related equipment.
  • Ability to monitor patients overnight and identify issues promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail in patient care.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP/MAD therapy, scoring sleep studies, and data interpretation.
  • Basic understanding of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, and narcolepsy.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with good coordination and clear vision.
