Duke University Hospital is seeking candidates for a pediatric sleep lab training program in Durham, North Carolina. The training schedule for the first 90 days is:
During this period, you will work closely with a preceptor to gain hands-on technical skills, including patient hook-up and understanding raw data collected during sleep studies.
After 90 days, you can select three nights for your permanent schedule, either consecutively or split across the week. You should be able to perform two patient hook-ups and run two sleep studies independently. You will always work with an RPSGT to support clinical decisions. It is expected that you will sit for and pass the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists exam within 24 months of hire, with eligibility to sit in less than a year.
