Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of NBRC-accredited educational program.
  • NM Respiratory Therapist license with option to obtain RPSGT in 2 years.
  • BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs polysomnography acquisitions per protocols and monitors signal quality.
  • Scores sleep testing and generates study reports.
  • Documents observations to facilitate scoring and interpretation.
  • Fits positive airway pressure masks.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots Sleep Center equipment.
  • Educates patients about sleep testing and orients them to the Sleep Center.
  • Communicates with Sleep Center physicians regarding patients and procedures.
  • Applies electrodes per physician orders and procedures.
  • Decides on therapy applications in consultation with Supervisor.
  • Analyzes polysomnograms and prepares studies for storage/archiving.
  • Trains for scoring sleep studies.
