Job summary

Vanderbilt Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery is seeking a Research Coordinator/Sleep Technology Coordinator to support a broad portfolio of head and neck research studies, including clinical trials. The role covers coordinating study activities, regulatory compliance, data collection, and serving as the primary sleep technologist for protocols, with overnight PSG studies up to four nights monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
• 1 year of clinical research experience preferred.
• RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification - a MUST.
• Experience with Epic or other EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical research studies across head and neck research, including clinical trials and quality improvement initiatives.
• Conduct overnight polysomnography studies up to 4 nights per month: setup, monitoring, data collection and documentation.
• Maintain a fully functioning sleep research program in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Collect, manage and maintain accurate research data and study records in compliance with protocol and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, scheduling and follow‑up visits.
• Ensure adherence to study protocols, GCP, IRB requirements and sponsor expectations.
• Perform QA/QC activities including data review, audit prep and process improvement.
• Prepare regulatory documentation and study files for ongoing research activities.
• Collaborate with investigators, staff, sponsors and teams to support successful research execution.
• Conduct patient evaluations and assess eligibility and study needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sleep study and research equipment and monitor supplies.
