UNC Sleep Center is part of UNC Health Care System in Chapel Hill, NC, seeking a Neurodiagnostic Tech II to perform standard and complex sleep-related neurodiagnostic tests and polysomnographic testing for patients in the Sleep Disorders Lab.

The role may involve work in the lab or at patient bedside, with a culture centered on support, clinical structure, leadership, and patient-centered care. A night schedule and onsite work are typical, with room for growth and remote scoring opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurodiagnostics or acceptable pathway.
• Registered in one of the following specialty areas: Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) or graduation from an accredited Neurodiagnostic 1–2-year academic program.
• Completion of an acceptable program of Neurodiagnostics or acceptable pathway.
• Willing to consider candidates with no experience to be hired at Neurodiagnostic Tech I level.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic patient testing: polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and CPAP.
• Perform room and equipment set-up and placement in patient and hospital rooms. Calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests.
• May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.
• Takes patient history and instructs patients and families on test preparation including pre and post-test interviews.
• Diagnostic remote scoring opportunities available.
