Job summary

UNC Medical Center Sleep Disorders Program seeks a Neurodiagnostic Tech II to perform standard and complex polysomnographic testing in the Sleep Disorders Lab. Work may be in the lab or at patient bedside, with emphasis on patient-centered care and clinical structure.

Hours are 8:00am - 6:00pm. The role includes opportunities for remote scoring and education of other technologists. Eligible for state benefits with UNC Health.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurodiagnostics or acceptable pathway.
• Registered in Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) or graduation from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program

Responsibilities

• Perfoms diagnostic patient testing: polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and CPAP.
• Performs room and equipment setup and placement in patient and hospital rooms; calibrates and maintains equipment.
• Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests.
• Provides instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Disorders Lab.
• Takes patient history and instructs patients and families on test preparation including pre and post-test interviews.
• Diagnostic remote scoring opportunities available.
• Performs HSAT setup, patient education and download.
