Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo, NY seeks a Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography) to conduct polysomnographic studies in the Sleep Center, including PAP titration with CPAP, Bi-level, and ASV devices.

The role includes education of veterans and families and adherence to federal and hospital regulations. Applicants may work night or day shifts and must be capable of handling complex sleep-disorder studies, patient education, and coordinating equipment maintenance with

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of sleep disorders and polysomnography
• Ability to summarize and report polysomnographic data narratively
• Experience mentoring junior technicians and providing staff education

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of polysomnographic studies in the sleep laboratory.
• Titrate PAP devices and ASV technologies during overnight studies.
• Educate veterans and family members on sleep procedures.
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff.
