Devereux New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and dual diagnoses. Based in Saugerties, NY, this position permits sleeping overnight at the assigned location (anticipating an average of seven hours of sleep per night), while remaining responsive to residents’ needs. During awake hours, the Sleep DSP will assist individuals with daily activities, health and personal management, achieving personal goals, and daily household living, as well as maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program participants while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors.

Salary

$16.00–$18.00 (commensurate with education and experience).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates without a high school diploma if they are enrolled in a GED program.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Valid New York Driver’s License.
• Flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and possesses a sense of humor.
• Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
