Job summary

Devereux in Hudson, NY is seeking a Sleep DSP to work overnight and support individuals with developmental disabilities. You will sleep about seven hours nightly while staying responsive to support needs and help with daily activities in a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with health tasks, promoting personal goals, maintaining a calm setting, responding during awake hours, and aiding behavior management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• One year of experience preferred; consideration for students in GED program.
• Valid NY driver’s license.
• Flexible, patient, energetic, creative, with a sense of humor.
• Strong passion for working with children and adults with special needs.

Job description

As a Sleep DSP at Devereux, you will work overnight to support individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them with daily activities and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Please note that you will be expected to sleep approximately seven hours per night while remaining responsive in case of support needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting individuals with health and personal management tasks.
• Helping with personal goal achievement and daily household living.
• Maintaining a safe, therapeutic treatment environment.
• Responding to residents’ needs during awake hours.
• Supporting behavior management and minimizing interfering behaviors.

Salary: $16.00–$18.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
