Job summary

VAST Data is seeking an Account Executive - SLED to expand our presence in higher education and public sector accounts. You will build executive relationships, drive strategic sales cycles, and collaborate with channel partners to close complex deals.

You will combine technical understanding with knowledge of procurement processes to win large, referenceable customers while expanding the VAST Data footprint across campuses and state networks.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of sales or account management experience in Higher Ed, SLED or Public Sector.
• Consistent track record of exceeding quota with large strategic customers.
• Experience building selling regions from the ground up with limited resources.
• Strong post-sales customer success focus.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to discuss with customers at business and technical levels.
• Knowledge of storage industry: NFS, Object Storage and Enterprise Computing architectures.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop business across SLED enterprise level customers.
• Generate revenue with Channel Partners to sell the VAST Data offering.
• Manage the sales process to align with customer buying cycles.
• Manage customer relationships from first meeting through (optional) proof of concept as well as after the sale to enable opportunities to expand the VAST Data footprint.
• Develop and present proposals to customers showing how the VAST solution meets their objectives and justifies the sale.
• Prospect, penetrate large accounts, reach decision-makers, and close business.
