Job summary

Environmental Restoration LLC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support hazardous waste clean-up and site remediation in the Salt Lake City area. Responsibilities include operating skid steers, forklifts, dozers, and excavators, with a focus on health and safety and equipment maintenance.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of environmental project experience, a valid OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, and the ability to work on-call and in confined spaces while wearing a respirator.

Qualifications

• 2 years of environmental project experience
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical exam
• Legally eligible to work in the United States (E-Verify)
• Willingness to obtain OSHA (40 hour) Certification
• Ability to work on an on-call basis as business needs require
• Ability and willingness to work in a physically intensive role
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds
• Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments

Responsibilities

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following PROS – Pause, Review, Observe, Start
• Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal with biological and chemical materials
• Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift
• Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights
• Operates light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, dozer, excavators, backhoes
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
• Load and unload equipment from vehicles, and trailers
• Have an excellent driving history
