Job summary

JPS Composite Materials in North Carolina is seeking a slasher operator to manufacture high-quality warps for weaving and other departments. You will mix sizing, set and adjust machines, and monitor the slashing process while handling and transporting beams and materials.

Maintain cleanliness, adhere to TPM and lockout/tagout protocols, and complete all records in our ISO AS9100 framework. Responsibilities include ensuring precise material usage, operating efficiently, and documenting activities

Qualifications

• Basic math abilities for calculating materials needed.
• General computer knowledge.
• Able to use material handling equipment (hoist, hand jack).
• Must pass slasher pre-hire test.
• Must be able to work in a tight, confined area without damaging yarn.

Responsibilities

• Produce the highest quality warps while operating efficiently.
• Mix size according to formula and ensure temperature and time requirements are met.
• Set machines, make adjustments as needed, and monitor the slashing process.
• Transport materials (e.g., beams) and maintain machine cleanliness at all times.
• Follow weekly TPM cleaning, audit schedule, and lock out tag out procedures.
• Complete all paperwork and use computer-based information systems; maintain records per AS9100.
