Job summary

JPS Composite Materials in North Carolina seeks a skilled Slasher Operator to produce high-quality warps while operating efficiently in weaving/entering departments. You will mix sizing per formula, set and adjust machines, and ensure temperature and time requirements are met. You will also transport materials and keep the machine clean.

Maintain TPM schedules, follow lockout/tagout, and document work in our systems while upholding ISO AS9100 records for aerospace/military applications.

Qualifications

• Basic math abilities for calculating materials needed
• General computer knowledge
• Able to use material handling equipment (hoist, hand jack)
• Must pass slasher pre-hire test
• Must be able to work in a tight, confined area without damaging yarn

Responsibilities

• Operate slasher to produce high-quality warps while maintaining efficiency
• Set machines, adjust as needed, and monitor the slashing process
• Mix sizing according to formula and ensure temperature/time requirements
• Transport materials and maintain cleanliness of equipment per TPM
• Complete paperwork and use computer-based systems; maintain ISO AS9100 records
