Job summary

Skyline at First Hill in Seattle is seeking a Cook for full-time or part-time hours to join our culinary team. You will prepare assigned stations, follow dietary restrictions for residents, and uphold food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Under the lead cook's direction, you will assist with menu items and ensure timely service across shifts while providing warm resident interactions. Some states may require First Aid/ CPR training and background checks as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ or older.
• First Aid training may be required per state/local guidelines.
• 1–2 years of cook/lead cook experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare high quality food for residents.
• Schedule flexibility including weekends may be required.
• Maintain relationships with food vendors as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
• CPR/first aid training may be required per guidelines.
• Background check, drug screen, and/or fingerprinting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary handling per regulations.

Our Cooks:

• Prepare assigned stations for shift.
• Under direction of lead cook/sous chef, prepare individual components of various entrees and food items, adhering to the individual dietary restrictions of residents.
• Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with State, Federal, and DSHS regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed!

• At least 18 years of age.
• Current First Aid Training and Certifications may be required in some states per state/local requirements.
• Prior experience as a cook/lead cook (1-2 years preferred).
• Ability to prepare high quality food for our residents.
• Flexibility with schedule may be required, with the occasional need to work Saturdays/Sundays, and other days/shifts as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment venders as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and residents.
• Ability to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
• CPR and first aid training may be required per state/local guidelines.
• Successful completion of recognized food safety course, as required by state/local guidelines.
• Completion of background check, drug screen, and/or pre-employment tasks such as fingerprint and physical may be required in certain locations state/local requirements.
