Job summary

Ascentria Care Alliance is seeking a Skills Trainer to deliver 1:1 supports across Central/South Valley Region and Western MA, with focus on sensory considerations and skills development. Position entails home and community-based work, including ADLs/IADLs, and advocacy for individuals and families.

The role requires Preschool/High School education with ABA experience; BCBA/ABA certification preferred; valid driver's license and flexibility to meet family schedules. Background checks required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• At least 1 year experience in ABA field strongly preferred.
• BCBA or ABA certification highly preferred.
• Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with concepts related to neurodiversity strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with community based human service professionals and staff.
• Flexibility to meet schedule needs of individuals and families.
• Valid Driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance is required to transport clients throughout the community.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 supports with significant consideration to sensory sensitivities.
• Facilitate productive play activities to teach and reinforce skills development.
• Teaching and supporting individuals both in the home and in the community with ADLs and IADLs.
• Serve as an advocate for individuals and families at various community levels.
• Support individuals and families to participate in social and recreational activities.
• Coordinate and work collaboratively with other service providers and family as needed to implement treatment planning objectives.
• Job must be conducted at all times in a way that respects rights, privacy and dignity and adheres to all regulations.
