Job summary

Ascentria Care Alliance is seeking a Skills Trainer for Central MA and surrounding communities. You will deliver 1:1 supports, facilitate play, and teach skills in home and community settings.

The role emphasizes ADLs/IADLs support, advocacy, and coordination with families and providers to implement treatment plans while respecting client rights and privacy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 1 year of ABA experience preferred.
  • BCBA or ABA certification preferred.
  • ASL knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with neurodiversity concepts preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Flexibility to meet schedule needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required.
  • Candidates must complete background checks before starting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 supports with attention to sensory sensitivities.
  • Facilitate productive play activities to teach skills.
  • Teach and support ADLs and IADLs in home and community.
  • Advocate for individuals and families at community levels.
  • Support participation in social and recreational activities to build natural supports.
  • Coordinate with other service providers and families to implement plans.
  • Uphold client privacy and adhere to contractual regulations.

Candidates should expect to work in Central MA, Worcester County, Westboro, Holliston, Dudley, Southbridge, Charlton, Northbridge and surrounding communities.

Pay Range

$26.50-$46.00 per hour

Work Location/Program Overview
  • Deliver 1:1 supports with significant consideration to sensory sensitivities
  • Facilitate productive play activities to teach and reinforce skills development
  • Teach and support individuals both in the home and in the community with ADLs and IADLs (e.g., transportation, using technology, money management, hygiene tasks, and laundry)
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals and families at various community levels
  • Support individuals and families to participate in social and recreational activities that encourage networking, formation of natural supports and peer support
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with other service providers and families as needed to implement treatment planning objectives
  • Conduct work in a way that respects the rights, privacy, and dignity of the client and adheres to all contractual regulations
Here’s What We’re Looking For
  • A high school diploma is required
  • At least 1 year of experience in the ABA field strongly preferred
  • BCBA or ABA certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with concepts related to neurodiversity strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with community‑based human service professionals and staff
  • Flexibility to meet schedule needs of individuals and families
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required to transport clients throughout the community
  • Candidates must successfully complete all required background checks before starting employment
