Job summary

Ascentria Care Alliance is seeking a part-time Skills Trainer in Brockton, MA. This role delivers 1:1 supports focused on sensory needs and skill development, both at home and in the community.

You will help individuals with ADLs/IADLs and advocate for families, coordinating with other providers to implement treatment plans. The position emphasizes compassionate, rights-respecting service delivery and a schedule that includes Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with a competitive hourly pay range.

Job Title: Skills Trainer


Thursdays- 3pm-8pm


Saturday 3pm-8pm


Sunday 8am to 4pm


Pay Range: $26.50-$46.00 per hour


The pay range is the authorized pay for this position and is displayed only for jobs based in Massachusetts and Vermont, where pay transparency laws require disclosure. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related factors.


Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Deliver 1:1 supports with significant consideration to sensory sensitivities
  • Facilitate productive play activities to teach and reinforce skills development
  • Teaching and supporting individuals both in the home and in the community with ADLs and IADLs (examples include but are not limited to: transportation,
    using technology, money management, hygiene tasks, and laundry)
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals and families at various community levels
  • Support individuals and families to participate in social and recreational activities that encourage networking, formation of natural supports and peer support.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with other service providers and family as needed to implement treatment planning objectives
  • Job must be conducted at all times in a way that respects the rights, privacy and the dignity of the client and adheres to all contractual regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A high School Diploma is required
  • At least 1 year experience in ABA field strongly preferred
  • BCBA or ABA certification highly preferred
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with concepts related to neurodiversity strongly preferred
  • Candidates who are selected for hire must successfully complete all required background checks before starting their employment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with community based human service professionals and staff.
  • Flexibility to meet schedule needs of individuals and families
  • Valid Driver's license and proof of automobile insurance is required to transport clients throughout the community.
