Job summary

Healthcare Centre of Fresno is seeking a Treatment Nurse to oversee prescribed skin and wound care for residents under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services. The role emphasizes timely assessment, documentation, and coordination with physicians.

Responsibilities include initiating treatment orders, updating care plans, and participating in ongoing training and audits to maintain high-quality care standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Licensed as RN or LVN in the practicing state.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility; wound certified.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assess resident skin condition with a complete body assessment at admission, re-admission, or return from leave.
• Initiate the Skin and Wound Progress report upon identifying a skin problem.
• Notify attending physician promptly for any skin condition identified.
• Initiate and document prescribed skin treatments and orders.
• Document skin problems on the resident's Plan of Care and weekly progress forms.
• Audit treatment sheets monthly and ensure accurate documentation.
• Attend in-service classes and monthly rounds with skin care consultant.
